3 WORLD PREMIERES from renowned choreographers Sarah Slipper, Patrick Delcroix and Wen Wei Wang.
- World Premiere from NWDP's award-winning Artistic Director, Sarah Slipper, whom Dance International Magazine said is "changing the way dance is created." With over 30 original works to date performed from Portland to New York to the revered Bolshoi stage in Moscow, Slipper is Portland's most gifted and accomplished choreographer and she knows how to mine the very best from her classically trained yet dynamic and fearless company.
- World Premiere from one of France's most acclaimed and accomplished choreographers, Patrick Delcroix, Nederlands Dans Theater dancer for 17 years and assistant to the legendary Jirí Kylián (and a real-live Knight!). Patrick's previous work for NWDP, "Harmonie Défigurée", is a rich exploration of human relationships filled with inventive, breathtaking partnering The Oregonian reviewed as "mesmerizing...gave the dancers the kind of space-eating, tempo-shifting movement -- from fast, aggressive unison to lyrical duets -- that makes this company such a pleasure to watch."
- World Premiere from one Chinese-born Wen Wei Wang, considered one of Canada's top choreographers. Wen Wei's previous work for NWDP, the other-worldly, martial arts-inspired "Chi", is a riveting study in detailed movement and energy exchange The Oregonian reviewed as "the highlight of the show...a small feast of images."
